Custom Fit
You’ll feel the difference with customised clubs

With the general improvement in the average club golfer’s knowledge of golf clubs, it is probable that most people are using clubs that are basically suited to them. However, assuming you have a reasonably consistent swing (good or bad), an alteration to the club, shaft flex, lie etc can help, or even eradicate a basic fault.
Obviously club fitting alone can not make you into a good golfer, but even the best players spend a considerable amount of time in making sure that the clubs they are using are right for them. One only has to look into a pro’s golf bag to see the variety of clubs they all use, while we are all aware that even the best players can go through a bad patch when first using a new set of clubs.
The way we hit the ball is often determined by our body shape and physical strength. Certainly the type of club a top, fit tournament player would use would be of little use to a high handicap weekend golfer.
For example, we know that the large majority of club golfers slice, particularly with the driver, and that is why we produce the Hammerhead Driver with a slightly closed face. For a low handicapper who probably tends to hook the ball, this club would be a disaster.
Shaft flex is also important and we are finding more and more golfers use an ‘A’ shaft which is more flexible than the standard shaft. It gives a little more clubhead speed and also helps to straighten out the slice.
Whatever handicap you are, unless your clubs have been customised, you will never attain your full playing potential. Your local PGA Professional is always the best person to ask regarding the specifications you would need.
